It took me a while, but I finally know how to tell you about who I am
If you come to meet me, I will show you who I am
I am a helping hand, a voice in the darkness, a fire starter
I believe there is a light at the end of every tunnel – I have walked through enough tunnels to now know that this is Truth
You must walk through your tunnels alone, but I will help you hear the voices of those cheering you on, even as you walk
I believe there is a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow
I am a little bit of hope, and when you can’t find where you left your own – I will hold space while you search for it - it will be in the last place you look
I have known Mercy, Grace and Compassion from others; I am learning to gift these to myself
Perhaps we can learn together?
There is so much that I now know to be true, and so much more I have to learn
I am learning to slow down. I am learning to rest.
I know how to love, for I have been loved......and continue to be loved……
I am learning to lift my head and look to the Hills, from whence comes my Help
Psalm 121
I am learning to doctor – I now know that I shall forever be learning to doctor - knowing deeply that it is a ‘doing’ word; not a ‘being’ word
Doctor
from the Latin verb docēre [dɔˈkeːrɛ]: 'to teach'
If anyone asks you who I am; tell them:
I am a Lion – Shumba Samaita Mutasa
I am Chiremba Chapeyama, Murapi
Tell them they can come and meet me; and I will show them who I am
Tell them I look forward to meeting them, and that when they show me who they are; I will believe them.
This is because I know the words of Maya Angelou: “When someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time”
It’s Lovely to meet you here.
Now let’s go – we’ve got work to do 😊
(Rufaro means JOY In the language of the MaShona people of Zimbabwe)
